Airsoft spring pistol underwater?

i have this small springer pistol, its mostly plastic (except for the barrel, springs, and the weights to add "realism") but me and my friends are having a backyard airsoft war and i wanted to hide my rifle and other pistol to hide in his pool submerged (with a snorkal or other breathing device of sorts) and then when i see them come out shoot one of them then submerge again so they try to find me but cant its either gonna work very well or leaving me trapped in a underwater death trap so my question is will my gun fire after i pull it out of the water and if so how should i clean the barrel so it doesnt rust.
