Hiking the appalachian trail...starting in georgia.?

I'm planning on hiking about a week of the appalachian trail starting in springer mountain, GA...all i'm able to take off of because of work. I was wondering if there's a place close to the starting place where i can park my car for the week. Also when my 7 day hike is over, are there places along the way where you can get off the trail and get a ride back (via taxi, shuttle, etc) to where my car is parked? I know i could just turn around after 3 and a half days and hike back to where the car is parked but i'd rather hike as far as i could in the week. THANKS
